RUSTIC DECOR FOR THE WIN

RUSTIC DECOR FOR THE WIN

Honestly....did it ever leave?
Maybe it did for some...for me,  it's always been the backbone of my home decor.

In any event.
RUSTIC DECOR FOR THE WIN
It was declared officially by My Domaine recently on their blog.
"Rustic home décor tells a story with texture in a way that brand-new furniture simply can’t. By the same logic, if you’re decluttering, the pieces you choose to hold on to should stand out. Minimalists, take note: It turns out that the newest way to nail the minimal look is to focus on things that have aged. Rustic home décor is our favorite way to make a room look lived-in and to make a space feel collected instead of decorated."
The article speaks mainly to larger furniture pieces within a space.

I tend to think the rich, rustic vibe can be created through a mixture of larger pieces mixed with cool, eclectic accents.

You know what we say..."perfectly imperfect".

I'm particularly in love with this Vintage Indian Decanter.  This mid century piece makes a  great addition to an existing bar area or is a statement on it's own.  The rich dark amber color on it's own is warm, yet plays easily with most any color scheme -  modern, bohemian or classic.

Believers in adding a little unexpected fun into any room...I'm also in love with this rustic light up arrow.  This piece will be at home in any room, kitchen, game room or funky office addition.

Reclaimed wood is always a good idea.  Here's a locally handmade bench that easily serves as a coffee table in an apartment or small space setting.

This handcrafted reclaimed barn wood bench from North Carolina is a classic, rustic yet modern piece.  Add this artisan piece to a hallway, end of the bed or main living area for instant rustic texture.

Adding a touch of rattan is another way to add a touch of texture.
How about a vintage rattan cart that is as versatile as it is fun to look at.
This one goes from bar cart to nursery to chock full of plants as an accent piece.

I'm gonna leave with you one last idea...
This awesome vintage dish now a planter...because this little burro just makes me happy as hell and he deserves a shout out.
